Leipzig are currently without a permanent head coach after sacking Marco Rose at the end of March and the German side are considering an audacious move to pry Fabregas away from Como in Italy.

Reports from Germany say the 37-year-old has impressed Leipzig directors, including Jurgen Klopp, with his attacking brand of football and energetic stance on the touchline. His style is similar to that of Xabi Alonso, who has become a hero at Bayer Leverkusen after guiding them to the Bundesliga title last season.

Fabregas has spent less than a season in charge of Como, but also has shares in the small Italian club. Therefore, it may be a more difficult task for Leipzig to lure him away, even with the potential promise of Champions League football next season.
