Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is urging the club to go all out to sign Marco Asensio on a permanent basis from Paris Saint-Germain.
Asensio fell out of favour under Luis Enrique in the French capital, resulting in him being loaned to the Premier League side in January. The three-time Champions League winner has flourished under Emery by scoring eight goals in just 10 matches, notably netting both goals as they beat Chelsea 2-1 in February before scoring one and setting up another as they beat Brighton 3-0 on Wednesday.
Asensio's loan deal does not include an option for Villa to sign him, but Estadio Deportivo reports that Emery has told sporting director Monchi to do everything he can to sign him. The 29-year-old former Real Madrid star reportedly has a €15 million (£13m/$17m) release clause, which would not be a major stumbling block for the Premier League side.
